MEGAMIX Beton Kontakt (5 kg) This is a high-quality adhesion primer designed for preparing smooth and non-absorbent surfaces before applying plasters, jointing compounds, or tile adhesives. Produced by MEGAMIX, known for its reliable construction materials. The primer creates a rough adhesion layer ('bridge'), ensuring strong bonding of finishing materials with complex substrates such as monolithic concrete, reinforced concrete, ceramic tiles, glass, or old paint coatings. The product is ideal for interior work but can also be used for exterior applications provided it is protected from direct precipitation. Thanks to the inclusion of quartz sand and polymer additives, MEGAMIX Beton Kontakt significantly improves adhesion of subsequent layers, ensuring durability and quality of the finish.

Characteristics:

  • Type: Adhesion primer (ready-to-use)
  • Packaging: 5 kg
  • Composition: Polymer dispersion, quartz sand, modifying additives, water
  • Application: Preparation of smooth and non-absorbent surfaces (concrete, reinforced concrete, ceramic tiles, glass, old paint coatings) before applying gypsum, cement, or polymer plasters, jointing compounds, tile adhesives, or decorative coatings
  • Compatibility: Compatible with gypsum, cement, and polymer plasters, as well as tile adhesives
  • Consumption: 0.2–0.35 kg/m² (depends on surface smoothness and absorption capacity)
  • Drying time:
    • To touch: 2–3 hours at +20°C and normal humidity
    • Fully dry: 12–24 hours (depending on conditions)
  • Application temperature: +5°C to +30°C
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +70°C
  • Color: Pink (for visual application control)
  • Features: Solvent-free, vapour-permeable, resistant to alkaline environments, creates a rough surface to improve adhesion
  • Density: ~1.5 kg/l

Advantages:

  • Excellent adhesion: Ensures reliable bonding of finishing materials to smooth and non-absorbent surfaces such as concrete or tiles, preventing delamination.
  • Ready-to-use: Supplied ready-to-use, requires no dilution or mixing, simplifying the process and saving time.
  • Versatility: Suitable for a wide range of substrates and finishing materials, including gypsum and cement mixes, as well as tile adhesives.
  • Eco-friendliness: Safe for use in residential spaces due to the absence of solvents and harmful substances, vapour-permeable, supports a healthy microclimate.
  • Ease of application: Pink color allows visual control of even coverage, eliminating missed spots.
  • Cost-effectiveness: Low consumption (0.2–0.35 kg/m²) makes the primer cost-effective for treating medium and small areas.
  • Reliability: Resistant to alkaline environments of plasters and adhesives, ensuring the durability of the finishing coating.

Application features:

  • Purpose: Used for preparing complex substrates (concrete, reinforced concrete, ceramic tiles, glass, old paint coatings) before applying plasters, jointing compounds, tile adhesives, or decorative coatings. Applied in residential, commercial, and public spaces for interior work, as well as for exterior applications when protected from direct precipitation.
  • Surface preparation: The substrate must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease, delamination, loose areas, or old coatings with low adhesion. Metallic elements are pre-treated with an anti-corrosion compound. If mould is present, the surface is cleaned and treated with a fungicidal agent.
  • Preparation: The primer is ready to use. Before application, thoroughly stir the contents of the bucket for even distribution of quartz sand. Do not dilute with water or mix with other materials.
  • Application: Apply with a brush, roller, or brush in an even layer. Single-layer application is recommended, avoiding excessive thickening. For large areas, a spray gun with proper settings may be used. Work at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C and relative humidity no higher than 70%. Avoid drafts and direct sunlight during application and drying.
  • Maintenance: Clean tools with clean water immediately after use while the primer is still wet. Protect the applied layer from moisture, dust, and mechanical impacts for 12–24 hours. Subsequent finishing work should only be carried out after the primer has fully dried.
  • Safety measures: Work in a well-ventilated area, use protective gloves, and, if necessary, protective goggles. Avoid contact of the primer with eyes and skin. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water.

Storage conditions: Store in a sealed package in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Avoid freezing. Shelf life — 12 months from the date of manufacture.
