MEGAMIX Primer Undercoat (10 kg) — a universal deep-penetrating undercoat designed for processing various surfaces, widely used in construction and renovation work. This product from MEGAMIX occupies a leading position among high-quality construction materials. The undercoat reduces the surface's absorption capacity, increases adhesion, and ensures a strong bond for subsequent finishing materials (plaster, putty, paint, or tile adhesive). It is ideal for porous and absorbent surfaces such as gypsum board, brick, concrete, aerated concrete, and cement-based substrates. The material is used for both interior and exterior work, strengthens the surface, reduces dust formation, and saves on finishing material consumption. Due to its ecologically clean composition, it is safe to use in living spaces.
Features:
- Type: Universal deep-penetrating undercoat (ready for use)
- Packaging: 10 kg
- Composition: Acrylic polymers, water, special additives
- Application: Preparing porous and absorbent surfaces (gypsum board, brick, concrete, aerated concrete, cement-based substrates) before applying plaster, putty, paint, or tile adhesive
- Compatibility: Compatible with water-based paints, gypsum and cement plasters, and tile adhesives
- Consumption: 0.1–0.2 kg/m² (depending on the surface's absorption capacity)
- Drying time:
- Non-stick: at +20°C and normal humidity — 1–2 hours
- Fully dry: 4–6 hours (depending on conditions)
- Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C
- Usage temperature: -20°C to +70°C
- Color: Transparent or white (becomes transparent after drying)
- Features: Solvent-free, vapor-permeable, surface-strengthening, reduces absorption, prevents dust formation
- Density: Approximately 1.0–1.1 kg/l
Advantages:
- Surface strengthening: Strengthens porous and hollow surfaces, ensuring long-lasting adhesion of finishing materials.
- Reduces absorption: Lowers the surface's absorption capacity, saving on paint and plaster consumption.
- Increases adhesion: Ensures strong adhesion of subsequent layers (paint, plaster, adhesive) to the surface.
- Ecological purity: Contains no harmful substances or solvents, safe for use in living spaces.
- Ease of use: Delivered ready-to-use, no mixing or dilution required, easily applied with brush, roller, or sprayer.
- Cost-effectiveness: Low consumption (0.1–0.2 kg/m²) provides economic benefits when processing large areas.
- Versatility: Successfully used for both interior and exterior work with various surfaces and finishing materials.
Application features:
- Purpose: Used to prepare porous and absorbent surfaces (gypsum board, brick, concrete, aerated concrete, cement-based substrates) before applying paint, plaster, or tile adhesive. Applied for interior and exterior work in residential, commercial, and public buildings.
- Surface preparation: The surface must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease, and loose particles. If the surface is moldy or contaminated, it must be cleaned and treated with a fungicide.
- Preparation: The undercoat is ready for use. Before application, it must be thoroughly mixed. Dilution with water or mixing with other materials is not recommended.
- Application: Applied with a brush, roller, or sprayer in one or two layers. For large areas, a sprayer is convenient. Work is carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C and air humidity below 80%. During application and drying, avoid drafts and direct sunlight.
- Maintenance: Tools used for applying the undercoat should be rinsed immediately with clean water while the undercoat is still wet. The applied layer is protected from moisture, dust, and mechanical damage for 4–6 hours. Subsequent finishing work should only be carried out after the undercoat has fully dried.
- Safety measures: Work in a well-ventilated area, use protective gloves, and, if necessary, protective goggles. Avoid contact of the undercoat with skin and eyes. If contact occurs, rinse the skin with plenty of water.
