KNAUF-Kurt 25 m – a reinforcing tape made from special white paper with added synthetic reinforcing fibers. Designed to strengthen joints of gypsum board (GB) and gypsum fiberboard (GFB) panels of any type, prevent cracks, and form smooth internal corners. The tape has high strength, tear resistance, and does not deform under moisture, ensuring high-quality surface preparation according to KNAUF technology. Used in dry rooms for construction, renovation, and finishing of walls, ceilings, and partitions. Manufactured in: Russia/Germany (depending on the factory).

Application

Application procedure

  1. Surface preparation:
    • Clean GB/GFB joints of dust and grease.
    • Apply primer (e.g., KNAUF Tiefengrund) and let dry (10–30 minutes).
    • If necessary, trim joint edges for leveling.
  2. Plaster application:
    • Apply the first layer of plaster (e.g., KNAUF Uniflott or Fugen) to the joint with a trowel.
    • Ensure the plaster evenly fills the joint.
  3. Tape application:
    • Cut the KNAUF-Kurt tape to the required length with a knife or utility knife.
    • Press the tape lightly onto the plastered joint and smooth it with a trowel, removing excess.
    • Ensure no air bubbles remain under the tape.
  4. Finishing:
    • After the first layer dries (4–6 hours), apply a second layer of plaster for smoothing.
    • After full drying (12–24 hours), sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper.
    • Prime the surface before painting or wallpapering.
