ERCO cellulose primer-paint – a universal coating material based on nitrocellulose, designed for priming and painting various surfaces, including metal, wood, concrete, and plastic. White primer-paint is used as a base coating for surface preparation before applying finishing coatings or as a standalone finish. Suitable for both interior and exterior work, providing high adhesion, corrosion protection, and a smooth finish. The product is supplied in a 13-liter metal bucket, making it convenient for large-scale projects. Dries quickly, resistant to mechanical stress and weather conditions.

Features

  • Type: Cellulose (nitrocellulose) primer-paint.
  • Purpose: Priming and painting surfaces.
  • Color: White.
  • Volume: 13 liters (metal bucket).
  • Composition: Nitrocellulose, pigments, fillers, solvents, modifying additives.
  • Consumption: 100–150 g/m² per layer (depends on surface type and application method).
  • Layer thickness: 20–30 µm (single layer).
  • Drying time:
    • Tack-free: 15–20 minutes at 20°C.
    • Fully dry: 1–2 hours at 20°C.
  • Application temperature: +5°C to +30°C, air humidity up to 80%.
  • Application methods: Brush, roller, spray gun (solvent dilution recommended).
  • Adhesion strength: ≥1.5 MPa.
  • Features:
    • High adhesion to metal, wood, concrete, and plastic.
    • Fast drying, suitable for multi-layer application.
    • Resistance to weathering and corrosion.
    • Requires solvents (e.g., solvent 646, acetone) for thinning and tool cleaning.
  • Storage: 12 months in sealed packaging, away from fire, at temperatures from −20°C to +30°C.

Advantages

  • Versatility: suitable for various surfaces (metal, wood, concrete, plastic).
  • Fast drying, accelerating the work process.
  • High hiding power and smooth base layer creation.
  • Corrosion protection for metal surfaces.
  • Economical consumption when applied in thin layers.

Applications

  • Priming metal structures, car bodies, and equipment before final painting.
  • Painting wooden products, furniture, window frames.
  • Preparing concrete and plastic surfaces for decorative coatings.
  • Use in construction, repair, automotive repair, furniture manufacturing.
  • Limitations:
    • Do not use in high-humidity environments without additional protective coating.
    • Do not apply to surfaces exposed to heating above +80°C.
    • Avoid contact with food products.
    • Work in well-ventilated areas due to strong solvent fumes.

Application instructions

  1. Prepare the surface: clean of dirt, dust, grease, rust (for metal, use mechanical cleaning or rust converter).
  2. If needed, prime the surface (for porous materials like wood, use pre-priming).
  3. Thoroughly stir the primer-paint before use.
  4. When using a spray gun, dilute the paint with solvent (646 or acetone) to working viscosity (10–20% of volume).
  5. Apply 1–2 layers with brush, roller, or spray gun, maintaining a 20–30 minute interval between layers.
  6. After application, allow 1–2 hours to dry before applying the final coating.
  7. Clean tools with solvent immediately after work.
  8. Work in protective gloves, goggles, and respirator, avoid open flames.
  9. Store out of reach of children.
